Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Noah’s Ark
One : Don’t miss the boat.
Two : Remember that we are all in the same boat.
Three : Plan ahead. It wasn’t raining when Noah built the Ark.
Four : Stay fit When you’re 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
Five : Don’t listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
Six : Build your future on high ground.
Seven : For safety’s sake, travel in pairs.
Eight : Speed isn’t always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
Nine : When you’re stressed, float a while.
Ten : Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
Eleven : No matter the storm, when you are with God, there’s always a rainbow waiting…

Acute effect of alcohol on Hearing Threshold
Background
There is very little knowledge about alcohol-induced hearing loss. Alcohol consumption and tolerance to loud noise is a well observed phenomenon as seen in the Western world where parties get noisier by the hour as the evening matures. This leads to increase in the referrals to the "hearing aid clinic" and the diagnosis of "cocktail party deafness" which may not necessarily be only due to presbyacusis or noise-induced hearing loss.

Dislosure Article
A perennial player in the media spotlight on biomedical publishing is the elusive “conflict of interest,” periodically invoked as the culprit for distorted or inappropriate research conclusions. One solution to the problem—full disclosure—has its merits but, as discovered by the unfortunate author below, is not a panacea.

As you already know, Bangalore is the birthplace of CIGI (May 2003). We have put together a power-packed scientific programme with 15 international faculty, in addition to the national presence and contributions. The highlights of the main conference include an International Panel Discussion on Global Strategies in CI moderated by Gerry O Donoghue; an ABI Symposium; a Future Trends Symposium; a Breakfast Symposium on Envoy Esteem; Symposia of the three implant companies; Cross talk with the Industry; CIGI Quiz; free papers; oral posters and poster presentations. Please visit the Conference Website www.cigicon.org and register early. Early bird registration is up to the 15th of this month. Please also note that the registration for the preconference workshops is separate; with limited seats, registration for any of the workshops is on a first come first served basis. Please do encourage your audiology/therapy students and ENT postgraduates to participate in the conference (separate discounted charge).Note that the registration intent may be confirmed online and the monies can be sent as DD to the Conference Secretariat or wire-transferred to the conference account. Please keep looking up the website for weekly updates. Accommodation details and hotel links will be provided shortly. There will be free paper sessions on two afternoons and we encourage you and your team members to submit abstracts ASAP (sunildutt@hotmail.com). In the event of an overwhelming response to free paper submissions, we may have to consider oral-poster sessions (5 to 10 slides with 5 minute presentations). Poster presentations are also welcome. Please do advise us if you would like to see any other information on the website. Looking forward to meeting each one of you and your budding CI team members in Bangalore soon. How to manage her Subglottic part of papillary Ca?
I feel that tracheal resection is not possible as the tumor is extending into submucosa of Cricoid cartilage.
One option is endoscopic shaving of the tumor with a microdebrider.
Should the larynx be stented after that?
Can the procedure(tumor shaving) cause subglottic stenosis?
Intra-tracheal mass is too large to be ablated by Radio-iodine.
Photos of case & CT films of neck attached.
