I remember reading about OTOLAM in a US based discussion group, over 10 yrs back. Now they have kicked it out? Their worry was that the paediatricians were using it ;-)

to do myringotomy, Co2 laser equipment is quite expensive as much as 5 lakhs to 40 lakhs ( lumiens)depending on the brand.after making the hole, what next? to do suctioning, and inserting the grommeette, again u need the GA & OT facility. making a hole is not enough. how we can justify investing lakhs of rs for just a laser unit for just a myringotomy? what purpose does it serve?
